During the fourth quarter of school we are working toward achieving the following Kindergarten learning goals.  Your child will be evaluated on the fourth quarter report card based on mastery of these skills.

 

Reading

• Complete Read Well small group units 16-20

• Identify all upper and lowercase letters (52)- must know all 52 or students will receive a 0%

• Orally say all phonograms (49)

• Read 100 sight words quickly and accurately

• Identify main idea of a story

• Manipulate sounds in words (Say log, now change the /g/ to /t/- what is the new word?  Say day, now change the /d/ to /p/- what is the new word?)

• Produce rhyming words

• Write all letters taught using Block (26)

• Write first name and last name using Block and spell both correctly

• Dictation Tests

• Monthly writing prompts

 

Math

• Count numbers 76 to 100

• Count to 100 by 10’s

• Count on from any given number

• Addition and Subtraction Facts 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (using flash cards)

• Calendar skills

• Chapter tests 11, 12

• Times addition problems with sums to 10 (manipulatives are allowed)

• Times subtraction problems with sums to 10 (manipulatives are allowed)
